With a “think outside the box” mindset and the experience of starting and operating her own manufacturing business, in addition to 15 years in various accounting roles, Kyla is passionate about serving the small businesses, families and not for profits in our community.
Kyla was raised in rural northern BC and attended the University of Alberta where she was conferred a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Conservation Sciences in 2003 and a Bachelor of Commerce, with Distinction in 2004. Kyla’s first job was a unique role combining her knowledge of science and business as a Project Accountant at a prominent Vancouver environmental consulting firm which inspired her to attain the Chartered Accountant designation, completing her articles in 2009.
Kyla has worked in both public practice accounting firms and in industry, finding it difficult to find work-life balance and aspiring to be more for her clients. After becoming a mom in 2015, this become more apparent to her; in 2019, Aspire Professional Corporation opened it’s doors.
Kyla also teaches at College of the Rockies and the Mountain Hub and volunteers as the Treasurer of the Columbia Valley Community Foundation and CPA Canada Financial Literacy volunteer. As avid campers, hikers, mountain bikers, and skiers, Kyla and her family can often be found exploring this beautiful valley we call home.
